The Big Thaw

Despite the 3 weeks of bone-chilling temperatures and a few centimeters of snow, winter was quite mild. This past weekend brought temperatures around 5 degrees (that's 40 degrees to US folks) which was truly a breath of fresh air. The snow melted and I took a long bike ride to the southern edges of Prague. The snow and ice had kept me off my bike the past few weeks- unlike last year when I took icy NYC streets head on every day to class- and I was really starting to feel it. So, my wussing out on riding is over and I'm back on the bike heading to work bright and early tomorrow morning.

Welcome to Prague 4

Lest you think Prague is all castles. (I do love Prague 4 though.)

Deep Freeze

As many of you know, we experienced quite a cold snap in central Europe the past few weeks. The average temperature was somewhere around -15 degrees Celsius (5 degrees Fahrenheit). Otherwise, it's been a very mild winter here.
